Frequently Asked Questions

1-What should we bring?

All of our cabins have fully equipped kitchens and all linens are provided. We provide an initial supply of paper products (usually enough for your stay). You will need to bring personal items (shampoo, hair dryer etc.) and grocery items. A long distance calling card is recommended as the cabins have local service only. Please bring your own towels if you plan to visit the river or lake as you are not allowed to remove items from the cabins. If you are unsure what to bring feel free to contact us and we can assist.

2- Can we bring our pet?

Pets are allowed (dogs only) in several cabins. Please see individual cabin listing. A non-refundable pet fee is required. This fee is $15 per night per pet with a maximum of 2 pets. If your rental qualifies for a free night then the pet also receives a free night!

3-Will my cell phone work at the cabin?

Cell service in our area is very spotty. AT&T and Verizon have the best coverage and can be picked up at most cabins but this is not guaranteed. A long distance calling card will enable you to make calls from the cabin.

4-Do you provide firewood?

We provide firewood for cabins with wood burning fireplaces from October 1st to March 31st. Some cabins have gas starters to get a wood fire started. If you are not sure how to use this please contact us. We do not provide firewood for any outdoor fire pits.

5-Where can we get groceries?

There are 2 large grocery stores in our area. Food Lion and Ingles should have everything you need with the exception of specialty items. Both stores sell beer and wine Monday through Saturday. We also have several gourmet stores located downtown on Main Street. There is also a Super Wal-Mart located in Ellijay about 16 miles south of Blue Ridge.

6-Why are your rates based on 4 guests when the cabin sleeps more?

The majority of our rentals are for 2-4 guests. If we priced our rentals for the maximum number of guests the cabin can accommodate, then we would be unfairly overcharging every rental with less than the maximum number of guests. We feel it is most fair to base our rates on 4 guests and then charge a per person rate for each additional guest.

7-What if something is not working or stops working during my stay?

Please let us know immediately if something requires attention at anytime during your stay. We are available 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm including holidays. If it is after hours just leave a message and we will get back to you (usually within 30 minutes). We want your stay to be perfect!

8-What other fees and taxes do you charge?

We do not add reservation or booking fees to any reservation. We are required to collect 7% state and 3% local lodging tax. Each cabin has a cleaning fee based on the size of the cabin. The cleaning fee is a one time fee and does not vary based on number of guests. The cleaning fee for each cabin is listed on our website and ranges from $60 to $100. If a cabin allows pets the fee is $15 per night per pet. We charge a 3% fee on the rental balance due if paying with a credit card. This can be avoided by simply mailing us a check for your rental balance (after your deposit). We do not charge any fee on the initial credit card deposit.

9-Do I need a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to my cabin?

Many cabins and attractions are located on gravel roads. Some of these roads can be rough but should not require a 4 wheel drive or special vehicle. We do not recommend bringing a sports car or any other low sitting vehicle. Please contact us if you have questions about a specific cabin or if you plan to bring a motorcycle and/or tow a trailer.

10-Do you clean the hot tub after every rental?

The hot tub is drained, cleaned and sanitized prior to your arrival. Many times this is done the day of your arrival so the water temperature may be below 101 degrees when you check-in. For rentals of 3 or more nights, we will provide additional chemicals that must be added to maintain clarity and keep the tub sanitized.

11-Will we see wildlife?

All of our cabins are located in the North Georgia mountain area of Blue Ridge. There is abundant wildlife in our area including deer, turkey, bears, raccoons, snakes etc. Also insects such as ladybugs, wasps, hornets and scorpions are quite common. Many of these animals/insects may be encountered during your visit.

12-What if I forget something at the cabin after I leave?

If you leave something behind at the cabin please let us know as soon as possible so we can try to locate it for you. We can arrange to have the item shipped back to you by UPS or USPS. It is very common for people to forget things; we sometimes have several items (phones, chargers, jewelry etc.) to return to different guests during any given week. For this reason we must charge $20 plus shipping to return items left in the cabin. This covers packaging and drop-off at shipping location.
